Amazon – how to win the buy box

Did you know that 82% of all sales on Amazon happens through the buy box? So what do you need to know about the Buy Box, and how do you guarantee that your products and listings secure a spot within it?

There are 5 key ways to win the Amazon buy box:

  1. Product condition – a new product will almost always win over a product being sold in used condition
  2. Pricing – Amazon is inherently competitive and without competitively priced product/s it’s difficult to      own the buy box
  3. Prime – Although a non-Prime seller can qualify to win the Buy Box, Amazon gives priority to its Prime sellers or seller with the fastest fulfilment
  4. Inventory – Without strong inventory levels, Amazon may award the buy box to a seller with more stock
  5. Feedback – Sellers with poor performance metrics have less of a chance of winning the Buy Box than those with positive metrics.
